Many vacancies in the Canadian private sector - Apply now





There are many vacant private sector jobs in Canada, non-profit sectors calling for political parties in the upcoming Canadian elections to address labour shortages. According to the Canadian Independent Business Federation, this figure was 3.2 per cent for one year.

The Canadian Business Association calls on the federal government to address employment shortages

429,000 leave the posts vacant in the second quarter (April, May, June) of the year 2020, when the Canadian immigration programs mentioned the need for talent. This is 23,000 over the same period in 2019.

"Vacancy rates may seem exhausted, but some of the underperforming labour markets in Canada could still raise National Gallery", the CFIB said.

"We also see a strong push to raise wages at companies that have jobs," said Ted Mallett, vice-president and chief economist at CFIB. "Although this level of vacancies may indicate the growth of the economy, we don't want to affect the labor shortage on the success of the business.”

Factors determining the level of vacancies include geographical and industrial differences;

Geographically

Through the province of British Columbia to have the highest vacancy rates, while Quebec was 3.9 per cent, representing 116,000 vacancies, while the BBC didn't 74,700 vacancies.

Level B. C slightly since 2019, while Quebec has experienced a slight decline since the first three months of 2020. In Ontario, with a national average of 3.2 per cent, while 3.1 per cent in New Brunswick, slightly less than that. This figure is increasing in areas such as Manitoba, where it stood at 2.6 per cent, equivalent to 11,500 vacancies.

Prince Edward Island is now 2.2 percent higher than any other county. In Newfoundland and Labrador, this figure rose to 2.0 per cent. In Nova Scotia, where the figure was 2.3 per cent, there wasn't any change. In Saskatchewan, this figure dropped to 2.1 per cent, 7400 vacancies. Alberta has also fallen to 1.9 per cent, the lowest rate in the country.

Differences by industry

The highest vacancy rate recorded in the services sector at 4.9 per cent, at 4.8 per cent, and hospitality at 3.7 per cent, agriculture, project management and professional services health 3.4 per cent. The vacancy rate in the information sector is 2.1 per cent.

Several immigration programmes help employers find highly qualified workers who want to move to Canada:

Express entry

Entry Express, although not a programme in itself, is a system used by the Immigration, Refugees and citizenship Canadian to choose candidates from the economic class to fill the position of a permanent Canadian citizen through the following programs:
  • Federal programme for skilled workers
  • Canadian federal category of qualifying professions
  • Canadian Experience category
  • Some provincial nomination programmes are also part of the rapid entry system.

British Columbia

BBC Provincial Nominee Program-leading technology that began in 2017, targeting foreign technical talent who want to make BBC their stay. Weekly competitions are held to determine who will receive an invitation to make the application. The programme will be extended until June 2020.

Immigration to Atlantic Canada

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program allows employers in one of Canada's four Atlantic provinces quickly recruit international talent. Some of the areas involved include New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador. If employers are eligible, it exceed the process of obtaining an assessment of the impact of the labour market.

Rural and northern migration

The pilot project on rural and northern migration monitors rural communities outside the Atlantic and Quebec provinces. Places with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants and more than 75 kilometres of the city will work with the council to develop programmes to meet their needs. The Canadian government did not provide details on the pilot.

Manitoba has a system based on the Murden community initiative linked to the rapid entry system. Candidates must be welders, carpenters, cooks or plumbers, among other conditions.

The province of Quebec has its own immigration system outside of rapid entry. Interested candidates could apply for a Quebec certificate in the following areas:

  • Programme de l'expérience québécoise (Quebec Experience Class, PEQ)
  • Quebec investors programme 
  • Quebec programme for entrepreneurs
  • Quebec self-employed programme

A document issued by the Department of immigration, diversity and integration of Québec shows that the owner is free to reside in Québec. Optimistic candidates must demonstrate that they are eligible for QSC services.
